Cheesy Shrimp Ciabatta

For out last get together I made this delicious Cheesy Shrimp Ciabatta. This is an appetizer that shrimp fans will love. In our family this is one of our most favorite recipes. It's so delicious!

You can go with a baguette instead if you would like bite sized portions, but it is hard to beat a fresh loaf of ciabatta bread. The baguette slices will get much crunchier so if you prefer that mouth feel, you can go with a baguette. A fresh French bread would also work great. Enjoy!

Ham, Garlic and Herbs Cheeseball Spread - 5 Minute Appetizer

A while back I made a delicious Ham, Scallion & Pecan Cheeseball from Squirrel Bakes. Of course being someone who doesn't plan ahead well, I didn't take any pictures and told myself I'd make it again and take some proper shots. As I was recently looking over the recipe again, I started to think of ways I could make the recipe come together even quicker. What I came up with was inspired by Squirrel Bakes, but with my own twist.

I knew this was going to be a difficult one to photograph in an appetizing manner. Ideally I would have styled it like Squirrel Bakes did, with a cheeseball covered in large pecans. For the individual crackers, I would have also added pecans on top. What can I say, it was about 11 at night and I was starving for a snack, so I whipped this up in a hurry. It may only take five minutes to make but it is seriously tasty. Ready for the recipe?

Instead of using plain cream cheese, which has to sit out at room temperature to soften, I used a container of Garlic & Herbs Alouette spreadable cheese. It is soft and fluffy, and you save a lot of time because it is already soft and ready to mix with the other ingredients.

Besides the delicious Alouette cheese, I purchased some shaved ham, diced it very small, and added a small bag of chopped pecans. You could alternatively dice up one thicker slice of ham if you would like. Add a pecan on top if you want to fancy it up and you are set to go.

Ham, Garlic and Herbs Cheeseball Spread
Makes many servings

1 container Alouette Garlic & Herbs spreadable cheese
1/2 cup of shaved ham, finely diced
1/2 cup chopped pecans, more if you want to garnish the top of the crackers with whole pecans
crackers to serve with the spread

1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

  1. Yum. I love that you say, add a pecan on top to fancy it up!! I'm so lazy I would let my guests serve themselves out of a dip bowl, I would never think to spread the dip on the crackers beforehand :)

Neiman Marcus Chicken Salad

This tasty Neiman Marcus Chicken Salad has a secret ingredient that gives the texture of the salad a wonderfully creamy texture. What is it ? Freshly whipped cream folded into the chicken, almond and grape salad. It works and it is wonderful.

Serve on a bed of curly lettuce, with crackers or on a croissant. Enjoy!

Stick of Butter Rice

This delicious side dish was a hit at my house. The raving over this recipe was intense. To put it mildly, everyone loved it.

Personally, I felt that the amount of butter could be cut down a bit in this recipe. I'll leave that up to you guys to decide what you think is best. I think I would go with 1/3 cup and see how that goes next time around. If you have unsalted butter I'd also recommend that you go with that, instead of the standard salted butter. Between the condensed soup and broth, it can get a bit salty.

Note that for this recipe you want to use standard white rice, not instant rice. Enjoy!
