Bread Nugat

Just a quickie recipe that is super delicious and easy to throw together on a weekend morning. Enjoy! Ready for the recipe?

Bread Nugat
Makes one 8″ round pan, several servings

1 can Pillsbury flaky biscuit
1/4 + 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 Tbsp. butter
1/8 c. dark brown sugar
1/3 c. evaporated milk

1. Pre-heat oven to 350-F degrees. In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon, set side.

2. Prepare a 8″ cake pan, cut each biscuit into four pieces, coat each piece with the sugar mixture, place in the pan.

3. In a small pot, heat the evaporate milk, 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar and butter to boil, immediately pour it over to the bread pieces.

4. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Serve warm.

  3. My husband is on vacation next week so I'm planning on making some breakfasts that I normally wouldn't make during our busy week. I can't wait to try this recipe on one of those days. This recipe is easy enough that my son can even make it. He's 13 and I will jump at any chance for him to learn to cook – that's when the mood hits him. lol!

  5. Yes, these looked amazing – I tried them, and I don't know what happened, but NOT the same – did you use flaky layers biscuits? (i kind of had a lightly burned mess) what a huge bummer…

  6. Hi Anonymous – I made these quite some time ago, I used just a basic biscuit from a can. If yours burned, then that tells me your oven was too hot and possibly you need to use a different baking pan. I would recommend using an oven thermometer to see if your oven runs too hot and also maknig sure your baking dish is not dark (those burn easier) and is non stick.
