Chicken becomes magically crispy while staying super juicy when cooked in an air fryer. These tasty drumsticks are coated in a seasoning blend and Parmesan cheese.
In a large Ziploc, combine the Parmesan cheese, baking powder, onion and garlic powders, salt and pepper. Shake bag to combine.
Using a paper towel, pat the chicken dry. Sprinkle evenly with baking powder.
Add the chicken drumsticks to the bag and firmly press the seasoning mix into the skin of the chicken, coating well. (If for some reason your seasoning mix is super dry and won't adhere, spray the chicken lightly with an oil spray.)
Preheat air fryer at 370-f degrees. Add a liner to the basket after preheating (not before!). Add the drumsticks. Lightly spray with cooking oil of choice, such as olive oil or vegetable oil. Regular canned cooking spray, like Pam, is not recommended in air fryers.
Air fry for 24 minutes, flipping half way through. Turn the heat up to 400-f degrees and cook for an additional 4 minutes. Remove from fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese or fresh lemon juice if using.
