Mozzarella Shrimp Bites in Phyllo Cups

Delicious, creamy shrimp filling in crunchy little phyllo shells. A perfect party appetizer.

Another popular appetizer from Christmas were these Mozzarella Shrimp Bites. The phyllo shells provide a nice crunchy shell to hold a creamy shrimp filling.

I would urge you to taste the filling before adding it to the shells to see if you want to add extra seasoning. Everything is cooked at this point, so taste away and see what you think. For the recipe below, I have adjusted the seasonings and increased them, as I found that the original recipe had almost no flavor to the filling. The recipe below reflects the changes I made.

  1. Is it possible that we are twins separated at birth?! 😉 I almost made something very similar to this over the weekend! They look amazing, now I wish I had done it!

    1. That is one of my favorites! I'm making a different banana cake recipe this weekend. I hope it loves up to that bar!

  2. Do you think increasing to the full 8 oz brick of cream cheese (and increasing the other ingredients, accordingly ) would do 3 full packages of the Phyllo?

    1. Hi MeShell – I think you could make that work. If it were me, I would divide the filling mixture into thirds and portion that out to each sheet of phyllo cups to get the portions correct. They may be just slightly less filled than shown in my pictures.

Hi, These look delicious!!! Do you think I could make these ahead of time and freeze and reheat them? TIA!!

    1. Hi Sue = I think it might work out if you froze them immediately so the phyllo stays crisp. That said, I haven’t tried freezing them so I can’t guarantee that it would work. Good luck if you try it that way!
