Cheesy Shrimp Ciabatta

For out last get together I made this delicious Cheesy Shrimp Ciabatta. This is an appetizer that shrimp fans will love. In our family this is one of our most favorite recipes. It's so delicious!

You can go with a baguette instead if you would like bite sized portions, but it is hard to beat a fresh loaf of ciabatta bread. The baguette slices will get much crunchier so if you prefer that mouth feel, you can go with a baguette. A fresh French bread would also work great. Enjoy!

Teriyaki Avocado Pineapple Burgers

If you haven't lived in California you may have never heard of the delight that is the Teriyaki Avocado Burger. It used to be available from a food joint named Spike's Teriyaki Bowl which have closed down. I have heard rumblings that one of Spike's children has opened a place, B-Man's Teriyaki & Burgers that serves similar food items.

Anyhow, back to the burgers. They are so delicious! When we lived in California we would make quite a long trip to get Teriyaki Burgers and Teriyaki Rice Bowls.  Now that I live very far away, making it at home is a great substitute. This is more of an outline of ingredients than a recipe per se, but I hope you enjoy it. Onto the recipe!

Teriyaki Avocado Pineapple Burgers
Makes several servings

1-2 lbs ground beef
Teriyaki sauce/glaze (I strongly recommend you try to find Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Sauce, it is fantastic)
pineapple slices
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. brown sugar
sliced ripe avocado
burger buns
mayo

1. Mix the ground beef with a few glugs (spoonfuls if you prefer) of Teriyaki sauce. Cook in a saute pan. While that is cooking, in a separate pan combine the pineapple slices, butter and brown sugar and cook until browned. Set aside.

2. Assemble burgers and dig in!

  2. NEVER heard of this combo! So interesting, I might have to try it! Moving to Nor Cal soon, I'll see if I can find an original too.

Serve on a bed of curly lettuce, with crackers or on a croissant. Enjoy!
