Sweet Chicken Bacon Wraps
Talk about taking my time. I made these Sweet Chicken Bacon Wraps several years ago during the football season and I’m just now posting them. Sheesh!
These are a simple and delicious appetizer. Perhaps a bit less chili powder and I’d be more of a fan. Either way, they’d be a tasty addition to your next party or family get together.
Sweet Chicken Bacon Wraps
Makes 12-15 wraps
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts
- 1 (1-pound) package sliced bacon
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes. Cut each bacon slice into thirds. Wrap each chicken cube with bacon and secure with a wooden pick. Stir together brown sugar and chili powder. Dredge wrapped chicken in mixture.
- Coat a rack and broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken wrap on rack in broiler pan. Bake 350 for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

I agree with you – I've made this recipe a couple times now, and I just can't seem to make it fantastic. It's just okay.
I think you need to season the chicken, or just use a roasted chicken from the super market.
I have made this many times but my recipe has a few other ingredients that yours is missing. Try sprinkling garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to both sides of the chicken first. Then you'll want to wrap the bacon around the chicken. The final step is to roll it all in the brown sugar. I feel that if you wrap the chicken in the bacon first, w/o it being seasoned, then you will not have that tasty final product. Hope this helps! 🙂
That looks deliciously addictive. I'm going to make these the next time we have friends over for dinner.
Looks and sounds great. I don't knwo what it is about little poppers… I just love appetizers!!
Better late than never 🙂 These looks so yummy! Perfect football watching party app!
Mmmm, those look amazing! Of course, maybe they don't need the brown sugar or chili powder. Little bites of chicken wrapped in bacon hardly need anything added. Bacon makes everything better, right?
Ali these bacon wraps look amazing! Don't you just love Paula Deen?? Fabulous photos as well! 🙂
I've made these! You're going to die when I tell you this, but I actually used fake vegan chicken and wrapped it in bacon for this recipe. I know, right? I'm insane. But it was so good–I'm def a fan of the spicy, sweet & smoky.
anything is better with bacon, that is my motto. so clearly, i LOVE this!
This recipe is so simple but looks so YUMMY! I hope you will share this recipe at my HomeMade Monday Blog Party next week at HomeSavvyAtoZ.com. I am your newest follower!
I could wrap my finger in bacon and brown sugar and eat it…….these look like a better idea though!!!!
Add bacon and I will eat anything…LOL! Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely delicious! I am going to have to triple this recipe for my family. They will be a hit for sure. I just saw a recipe that had chicken stuffed with jalapenos and cream cheese…wrapped in bacon and then grilled. Your sweet and spicy rub on the outside of those would be fantastic! Thanks for sharing this recipe!
These look delicious! I make a similar kabob, where I wrap marinated turkey with bacon and bbq, it is super yummy as well!

Mmmm! I love bacon!! More the Merrier Monday will be open until Wednesday at midnight. I would love for you to stop by and link up your chick bacon wraps. http://diyhshp.blogspot.com/
These look fantastic! Will this recipe work well with shrimp too?
Yum!
I made these and they turned out amazing.
I do not own a broiler rack. But would love to make these this evening since I have everything on hand. Any suggestions?
I have made these without a rack. I just line my large cookie sheet with parchment paper. They are awesome and always a great hit at our carry-in luncheons.
you can also make them by saturating each piece of chicken in BBQ sauce, stick a wedge of mozzarella cheese on the chicken and then wrap it in bacon!! works equally well for a meal rather than finger food or an appetizer – chicken breast, bbq sauce, sliced mozz cheese and bacon on top!
Just made these and to get the bacon to cook, I had to leave them in for an hour. Very tasty.
I appreciate hearing from those who've actually made the recipe rather than those who want to make it. That is not really as helpful.
Do you think I could bbq them? Should I pre-cook the bacon? Thanks!
Kim – I would pre cook the bacon a bit. I haven't bbq'd them so I can't say one way or another about that, but if you pre cook the bacon I think it would be delicious 🙂
Discovered this gem for my superbowl party. Been making it for years always a crowd pleaser. Just make sure to get yours first, they go fast!

Is the chicken supposed to be cooked or raw?
For the cooking time listed, that is for raw. If you wanted to use already cooked chicken, you'd have to be very careful because it might dry out easily.
YUMMM! Gotta try these!
I do these just a little differently. I combine chili powder with garlic powder. Roll the chicken in that. Wrap with bacon then do the brown sugar. The juice these make in the oven is scrumptious
these were amazing. i actually used chipotle powder though, we're a family of spice! though its not the most healthy serving, i actually made it into a dinner. i cut the breasts into long strips and used one slice of bacon to cover it. simply amazing. i must say that the second time i made them i tried laying them out on a bakers rack.. not nearly as good.
Made these today…YUM! Wouldn't change a thing!!
Made this tonight and they were delicious! I dipped the chicken in the mixture and THEN wrapped them in bacon. Aaaaaamazing 🙂
I've made this many times we like things with some spice so I add a piece of jalapeno in with the chicken and make sure a season the chicken (I use some of the brown sugar and Chile ppowder mixture. My family loves them and if I don't make them for a family function I'm in trouble

These do look delicious. we make a very similar recipie using hot dogs instead of chicken. never tried them with chili powder, my boys love spice, so I'm sure this will be a hit for them! thanks for the great idea!

Made these – very yummy!
They were amazing and such a big hit, I will make them again and again!
I stuffed the chicken with jalapeno and swiss. Awesome!
We are so anxious to make these!
I made these for an appetizer parry and everyone just loved them. Just as the receipe states. I think maybe salt and pepper before you wrap them…
Wonderful creation, but I did add a little pepper and garlic powder to the chili powder to make sure the chicken had more flavor
Sounds like a great addition 🙂
