Deconstructed Strawberries Romanov
The other day I was over at Kalyn’s Kitchen reading about Strawberries Romanov when I noticed that she had mentioned a restaurant that served strawberries alongside brown sugar and sour cream. First you dip the berry in the sour cream, then lightly coat it in the brown sugar. I was intrigued!
Today I finally got to try it out. It was delicious! You really can’t taste the ‘sour’ part of the sour cream at all. If that seems a little too weird for you, just mix the two together and you get a brown sugar cream seen in this Blueberries and Brown Sugar Cream recipe.
It takes about 5 seconds to throw together and would be perfect on a larger scale for parties as well. I went a little too heavy on the brown sugar with mine, but it was tasty nonetheless.

I actually just indulged in this, this past weekend! I can't believe I haven't had it before now! Except instead of sour cream, they served it with Creme Fraiche…super yummy! My hubby and I had it served to us along with our breakfast!

Very simply delicious! Your strawberries look like they were freshly picked, too. I can't wait to try this yummy treat.
Thanks for sharing with Sweets This Week!
Being a child of the 70s, I was raised by "Health Nuts" (bless them) who didn't allow too many treats to come to the table. One of my favorite things that we were allowed however, was fresh strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar. I never knew it had such an elegant name!
Coincidentally, my husband asked me, just today, if I had ever had strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar. I repeated the story above, and he said that he had never even heard of it, but that a co-worker had been raving about it during the week.
Well, all signs point to my family enjoying some Strawberries Romanov in the coming week. I, and my family, thank you!
