Zesty Shrimp Po Boys


Warm and buttery garlic shrimp topped with a zesty horseradish creole sauce are the star features of this tasty Shrimp Po Boy. I loved this very simple and fast sandwich. It has tons of flavor and it can be made start to finish in 20 minutes.


I kept my zesty sauce very light on the creole seasoning as I was serving this to my children. If you like it spicy, feel free to increase the creole seasoning in the sauce. You can even add a sprinkle of additional seasoning to the shrimp as they are cooking in the butter sauce if you'd like.


Mardi Gras month is almost at an end. I am bummed but glad we had a successful month with such tasty recipes.

Cajun Ranch Chicken with Alfredo Penne


Delicious marinated chicken on top of a bed of creamy alfredo penne. It is a flavor packed dinner that is a easy peasy to prepare. 


I like to use chicken thighs for a recipe like this, but feel free to use chicken breasts. Keep in mind that the chicken needs to marinate a few hours at least, preferably overnight.

Mardi Gras Lime Swamp Punch


Lime Swamp Punch is a creamy and tart punch that was loved by children and adults alike at our house. It is quite tart, but not overwhelmingly so. The classic flavors of lemon and lime come together nicely with the lime sherbet.

Roasted Cajun Potato Wedges


Tender and spicy roasted potato wedges are easy to prepare and are a delicious, fit for all occasions sort of side dish. The recipe calls for olive oil but I just happened to have a little bacon grease so I used that instead. Delicious!


If you can handle it, the gorgonzola sauce that I've posted previously goes perfectly with these spicy potatoes. Pour it over the hot, cooked potatoes and stir to combine. The gorgonzola pieces will melt, becoming gooey and amazing.

King Cake Bread Pudding with Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting


Rich king cake bread pudding topped with a cream cheese bourbon frosting. This dessert (or breakfast) is indulgent and delicious!


As described in detail in the notes below, for my tweak to a traditional bread pudding I used cinnamon raisin bagels, but you should feel free to use croissants or cinnamon rolls if you'd like a less dense bread pudding.


The bourbon cream cheese frosting is just the best thing ever. Tasty and festive. Enjoy!

Warm Gumbo Dip


Spicy and creamy, this Warm Gumbo Dip is perfect from shrimp lovers. Alongside the shrimp are sauteed bell peppers, garlic and okra. Bake it up and serve with a sliced baguette.


If you aren't a fan of okra or can't find it locally, you can feel free to leave it out. I think the addition of 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar or colby would be a tasty addition to this.

Cherry Oreo Truffles

My one and only Valentine's Day recipe this year are these divine Cherry Oreo Truffles. I think they are the best oreo truffle yet!


Tucked inside each truffle is a sweet cherry and on top is a delicious cherry drizzle. They may look fancy but they are a cinch to prepare.


This is one of those foods where when you take a bite you have an audible reaction. So good. Enjoy!
