Perfect for breakfast or a snack, this Moist Apple Carrot Bread is sweet and delicious. After it has cooled, adding a layered of whipped cream cheese on top is gilding the lily, but it is extra delicious served this way.
Shredded Apple Pie is not something I'd heard of until I tried this delicious pie. The consistency of course is different than a traditional apple pie, but the taste is different as well. Eggs in the shredded apple mixture create a really wonderful flavor. My mother commented that the texture and taste reminded her a bit of pecan pie, which I agree on.
This is a very sweet pie indeed. I think you could safely get away with cutting the sugar down to one cup, if you prefer. But I wouldn't try to reduce it too much to make it healthy. It is a sweet pie and trying to make it a non sweet, "healthy" pie sorta defeats the purpose.
I love jello salad in almost all forms. I draw the line at jellied meats, but when it comes to desserts I love experimenting with all kinds of recipes. For this layered salad I prepared a raspberry and apricot jello with pineapple and banana mixed in.
If you were wondering, yep, that's cheese on top. Does your family with their own version of crazy jello salad? I'm really curious to hear details.
A layer of mini marshmallows sits on top of the jello, with a homemade pudding like topping over that. Sprinkle freshly grated cheddar cheese on top and you are all set to go.
Of course, if you really hate the idea of cheese, you can skip it. But I would urge you to at least try a bite of it with some cheese on top to see what you think.
For an alternative to the pudding layer, I would recommend the filling I used for the Boston Cream Whoopie Pies. It is fantastic and a bit less work if you are in a hurry. Enjoy!
I love pasta salads, especially recipes that make a huge serving so you can have leftovers in the fridge for a few days to eat with your lunch and dinner. This Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad is particularly tasty as it uses a dry ranch mix in the dressing. It is full of lots of tasty raw vegetables and a hint of cheese and bacon.
My only change for next time would be to prepare the raw carrots differently. When diced, they were a bit too hard to bite into. I think next time I would shred them, or if I wanted to keep them diced, perhaps blanch them so they aren't quite so hard to eat. I'll leave that decision up to you. Enjoy!
Probably the best recipe that was made for Easter was this dish for Fancy Peas and Mushrooms. Holy cow is it good! It truly is an amazing recipe. Not only is it simple but it requires few ingredients and the end result will knock your socks off. Make this immediately, don't wait!
