Best Ever Sloppy Joes

Okay here we go folks. This is without a doubt the best recipe I have for Sloppy Joes which comes from my mom. Even better than the Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes, which are convenient but I will admit, these just taste better. I love to add a slice of American cheese to my sandwich or if that doesn't strike your fancy, a tiny spoonful of of sour cream. For the purists, it is delicious just on its own.

Best Ever Sloppy Joes
Makes several

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3/4 c. ketchup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. chopped green or red bell peppers
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery

1. Cook ground beef and chopped onion. Drain fat off meat. Add back to large pan. Add remaining ingredients. Mix. Reduce heat to low and cook 40 minutes. Serve with fresh bakery buns.

  7. I love sloppy joes, but my daughter can't stand them. This sounds way better than that canned stuff people rave about. I'm not a fan of that at all.

  12. I've been looking for a good base for pulled beef bbq. I used 2 lbs of boneless spareribs instead of ground beef and threw everything in the crockpot on low for 8 hrs. AMAZING... thank you so much for sharing!
