This simple pound cake is more and more delicious by each passing day. On the third or fourth day it was absolutely delicious served with a bowl of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. If you can manage to have a bit of patience, let it sit for a day or two, at least after initially trying a slice. It just gets better and better.

- 10-inch tube pan
Ingredients
- 16 ounces butter (4 sticks)
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 6 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the sour cream and mix until incorporated. Sift the baking soda and flour together. Add to the creamed mixture alternating with eggs, beating each egg 1 at a time. Add the vanilla and pour the mixture into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes.

It might Rebekah but I am not sure what the baking time would be. Your best bet would be to google sour cream pound cake cupcakes and see if there are any directions out there for baking temp and time. Good luck!

Go recipe when I need to make a pound cake. I sometimes add venilla,rum,coconut,lemon,& almond extract to the batter to give it an extra umph! To it. While it' warm I
Mix lemon juice with a little half n Half and powdered sugar to drizzle over it. You can't go wrong with a cake like this! BJC.
I was a little dissapointed with the recipe, I thought it was too sweet and slightly “eggy” in taste. We were not thrilled with it. Might have been better with some lemon, maybe to cut the sweetness a bit.
My grandmother baked her pound cakes with a recipe such as this with the exception of 4 cups of Swans Down cake flour rather than 3 cups of All Purpose flour. That change will make a delicious difference.
16 oz of butter is 4 sticks, not 2
