Strawberry Freezer Jam

One of my favorite treats ever. So simple but the flavor is amazing. You won’t buy store bought strawberry jam ever again. Ready for the recipe?

Strawberry Freezer Jam
Makes Five – 8 oz. Jars

4 cups mashed strawberries
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 packet freezer jam pectin

1. In a large bowl, crush strawberries until only small pieces remain and mixture is quite liquid. This may take a few minutes.

2. In a small bowl, mix Pectin and sugar together until incorporated. Add to mashed strawberries. Stir for 3 minutes.

3. Ladle into clean jam jars, leaving 1/2″ space at the top. Cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Store in your freezer until ready to use, or transfer to fridge.

Jam keeps several weeks in the fridge or up to one year in the freezer.

  1. Looks really good. May I ask what kind of camera you use for your food shots? Your pictures are always so clear and really nicely done! I find it very difficult to get good close ups of food.

  2. My mother in law makes this every spring when strawberries come into season. Wonderfully easy recipe!

I may have to make myself some this year.

  3. P.S. I think it is proper blog etiquette to tell you that I linked or tagged this recipe in my blog for today's entry on homemade bread. Is ok with you?

  4. I cannot wait for strawberry season!!! Last year, for the first time, I went strawberry picking with my son and friend and made a huge vat of strawberry jam. YUM. Want to make like 3x as much this year. We LOVED it. (I don't use pectin though . . . have a technique that doesn't need it . . . )

    Your jam looks divine.
